You can buy dozens of types of ketchup in the store. But take a closer look – and they all turn out to be almost the same. Not to mention even dubious formulations with preservatives, enhancers and flavors. I suggest cooking ketchup at home, and not simple, but from green tomatoes.
Ingredients
- Green tomatoes - 1 kg
- Chili pepper (green) – 2 pieces
- Greenery - 1 bundle
- Onion - 1 piece
- Garlic - 4 clove
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Apple cider vinegar - 1 art.l.
- Sugar - 1 art.l.
- Spices and seasonings - 1 tbsp.l.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Chop tomatoes, peppers, herbs, onions and garlic with a blender.
Bring the mass to a boil and boil for 15 minutes.
Grind again with a blender and grind through a sieve.
Add sugar, salt, vinegar and spices to taste.
Boil the ketchup for another 5-7 minutes and put it in clean, dry jars.
