I want to share a simple and affordable recipe for canned pears in syrup for the winter. In winter, use such pears to prepare various desserts or enjoy the fruits just like that. And sweet syrup will make a delicious and healthy homemade compote
Ingredients
- Pear - 700 g
- Water (how much will go into the banks) – 400 ml
- Sugar - 100 g
- Citric acid - 2 pinches
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wash the pears, peel them, cut them in half, remove the bones and dense cores.
To prevent the pears from darkening during the cleaning process, place them in a bowl of cold water with the addition of ¼ tsp citric acid.
In pre-sterilized 0.5 L cans tightly (but not tamping!) arrange the halves of the pears.
Boil water and pour boiling water over the fruits in jars to the top. Cover the jars with sterile lids and leave to warm up for 10 minutes.
Drain the liquid from the jars into a saucepan, add sugar and citric acid. Bring the syrup to a boil and boil for 2-3 minutes.
Return the boiling syrup to the jars with the workpiece. The syrup should completely cover the pieces of pears. Roll up the jars, turn them upside down, wrap them in a warm blanket and leave them to cool completely. Store the workpiece in a darkened place at room temperature.
