Compote of gooseberries and raspberries for winter
Compote of gooseberries and raspberries will become a favorite drink of children and adults in the cold season. I prepare this drink according to the recipe without sterilization. So the incredible aroma and maximum benefit of berries are preserved, and the compote acquires a beautiful ruby color.
Ingredients
- Gooseberry - 300 g
- Raspberry - 300 g
- Water - 2 l
- Sugar - 4 tbsp.l .
- Citric acid - 0,5 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wash the gooseberries and raspberries in cold water, dry them slightly. Then put the berries in pre-sterilized jars for about a third.
Boil the water. Pour boiling water over the berries to the top of the jar. Cover with sterile lids and let stand for 25-30 minutes.
After that, drain the liquid from the cans into a cooking pot and boil it again.
Add sugar and citric acid to the jars of berries. Pour boiling water, roll up. Turn the jars of compote upside down, wrap them with a blanket and leave them to cool completely. For long-term storage, transfer the jars of gooseberry and raspberry compote to a cool, dark place.
