A great recipe if you want to prepare strawberries for the winter with whole berries! Although I still recommend cutting especially large specimens into several parts. So the strawberries will be soaked more evenly with syrup and will be even more tender.
Ingredients
- Strawberries - 1 kg
- Water - 250 ml
- Sugar - 350 g
- Citric acid - 1 pinch
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Go through the strawberries, remove all the leaves and bad berries, and rinse it thoroughly. Spread it out in sterilized jars to the top.
Mix sugar with water and boil for about 5-7 minutes after boiling until smooth.
Add citric acid to the syrup, mix and gently pour over the strawberries. If it is not enough, add a little boiling water.
Cover the jars with lids, put them in a saucepan with hot water and boil for 6-10 minutes. After that, immediately roll the strawberries in syrup.
