Pickle with pearl barley and pickles for winter
Pickle in a jar is an excellent preparation that will significantly save time spent in the kitchen. Cook the broth, add the potatoes and the contents of the jar. That's it! Delicious, fragrant pickle is ready! I share a simple, proven recipe without sterilization.
Ingredients
- Cucumbers (salted or pickled) – 1 kg
- Tomatoes - 0,5 kg
- Carrots - 0,5 kg
- Onion - 3 pcs.
- Pearl barley - 200 g
- Water - 0,5 glasses
- Vegetable oil - 50 ml
- Vinegar (9%) – 2,5 art.l.
- Sugar - 1 tbsp.l.
- Salt - 0,5 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Pre-soak the pearl barley in cold water for 1 hour.
Cut the pickles into medium cubes.
Peel the carrots and grate them on a coarse grater, chop the onion finely.
Wash tomatoes, cut into small cubes, place in a cooking pot. Add salt, sugar, vegetable oil, stir and bring to a boil.
Pour in the water, add the pearl barley and the rest of the vegetables. Re-bring the billet to a boil and boil over medium heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5 minutes before cooking, add vinegar, mix.
Pack the boiling billet into pre-sterilized jars, roll it up, turn it upside down and leave it to cool completely. Transfer the cooled pickle to a cool, dark place for storage.
