Thrifty housewives prepare not only jam and sauces from plums for the winter, but also delicious homemade compote. A fragrant ruby-colored drink in winter will be most welcome for the whole family! With a fresh bun or cookies, for every day and for a holiday.

Ingredients

  • Plums - 700 g
  • Water - 2,5 l
  • Sugar - 150 g

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Rinse the plums and dry them slightly.

Fill a sterilized three-liter jar with 1/3 plums.

Boil water and pour boiling water over the plums in a jar. Cover the jar with a sterile lid and leave for 10 minutes.

Then drain the liquid from the jar back into the saucepan, add sugar and cook the syrup.

Pour boiling syrup over the plums in the jar to the very top, roll up the jar, turn it upside down, wrap it up and leave it to cool completely. Store the cooled plum compote in a cool dark place.
