It usually takes almost two hours to prepare borscht. The process is significantly reduced if you use borscht dressing. You can cook it without cabbage with tomato paste. I tell you in detail this wonderful recipe.
Ingredients
- Beetroot - 1 kg
- Carrots - 150 g
- Onion - 300 g
- Garlic - 5 cloves
- Tomato paste - 100 g
- Vegetable oil (odorless) – 50 ml
- Vinegar - 50 ml
- Black Pepper - 5 peas
- Sugar - 100 g
- Salt - 60 g
- Water - 1 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Grate beets and carrots on a grater.
Peel and chop the onion and garlic.
Fry onions and carrots in oil until transparent.
Add beetroot, black pepper and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Mix water with tomato paste, salt, sugar and pour into the roast.
Add garlic, cover and simmer all together for 15 minutes.
Add vinegar and remove from heat after 1 minute. Arrange the borscht dressing in jars and roll it up.
