Cabbage soup is considered a classic Russian dish. They are prepared from cabbage, vegetables and meat. Beef, pork or lamb are mainly used. I share with you a simple recipe for cabbage soup with beef ribs and sauerkraut.
Ingredients
- Beef ribs - 400 g
- Potatoes - 250 g
- Sauerkraut - 300 g
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 piece
- Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.l.
- Tomato sauce - 2 art.l.
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Dill (for submission) – 2 twigs
- Water - 2,5 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wash the beef ribs, pour cold water and boil for 10 minutes.
Change the water, add the bay leaf and cook for 40 minutes.
Peel potatoes and onions, chop. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the onion and carrot and fry until golden brown.
Add sauerkraut, tomato sauce and simmer for 4-5 minutes.
In a saucepan with ribs, add potatoes and roast. Cook everything together for 10 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper before turning it off. Serve the soup with chopped dill.
