Delicious and fragrant blackthorn is incredibly underestimated. Especially when it comes to winter preparations, in which it fits just perfectly. Sauces, snacks, jam, and now this amazing plum and sloe compote.

Ingredients

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Arrange the blackthorn and plum into clean jars.

Pour boiling water and leave for 5 minutes under the lids.

Drain this water, boil it again and pour it back for another 5 minutes.

Drain the water again, add sugar and star anise to it, boil the syrup for a couple of minutes and pour it back in.

Roll up the compote for the winter.
