It seems to me that this is the simplest recipe for Bulgarian pepper lecho that you can think of. It contains only pepper, tomato paste and spices. It is prepared without sterilization and other difficulties. Fast, simple and very tasty! I recommend to try it.

Ingredients

  • Bell pepper (net weight) – 2 kg
  • Tomato paste - 200 g
  • Water - 1 l
  • Vegetable oil - 100 ml
  • Vinegar (9%) – 2,5 art.l.
  • Bay leaf - 3 pcs.
  • Black Pepper (peas) – 7 pcs.
  • Sugar - 1 glass
  • Salt - 1 tbsp.l.

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Wash the pepper, peel off the seeds and stalks, cut into pieces.

In a cooking pot, combine 1 liter of water, tomato paste, salt, sugar, pepper, bay leaf, vinegar and vegetable oil. Stir and bring to a boil.

Put the prepared pepper in the boiling marinade, bring it to a boil again and boil over medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Pack the boiling lecho into pre-sterilized jars, seal tightly, turn upside down and cool. The cooled workpiece is perfectly stored at room temperature.
