Cucumbers, salted for the winter in cans according to this recipe, differ little from barrel cucumbers, while being stored in a city apartment all winter. The cooking process will not take you much time and effort. Cucumbers turn out delicious and very crispy.

Ingredients

For 5 l of brine:
  • Water - 5 l
  • Salt - 7,5 tbsp.l. with a slide

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Wash cucumbers and greens well. Cut the large leaves into pieces. You can use not all of these spices, but only those that you usually take for this kind of preservation (the list of spices is optional).

Soak cucumbers in cold water for several hours, preferably overnight. So cucumbers will become more crispy. Then drain the water and rinse the cucumbers again.

Cut horseradish root and hot pepper into small pieces.

Place a layer of leaves and umbrellas of dill on the bottom of the salting container, add pieces of horseradish and hot pepper. Put some cucumbers on top. Fill the container, alternating layers of greens and cucumbers. The top layer should consist of leaves.

In cold drinking water, dissolve the salt. Pour the resulting brine over the cucumbers so that they are completely covered.

Cover the container with the workpiece with a plate suitable in size and set the pressure (I have a three-liter jar of water). Leave for salting for 2-5 days (the time of salting depends on the temperature in the room: the warmer, the less time it will take). Check the readiness of cucumbers for taste.

When the cucumbers are salted enough, drain the brine into a saucepan (we will still need it). Remove the herbs and spices, rinse the cucumbers under running water.

Pre-sterilized three-liter jars tightly fill with cucumbers.

Bring the brine to a boil and pour boiling cucumbers in a jar to the very top. Cover the jars with lids and leave to warm up for 10 minutes.

Then drain the brine from the jars back into the saucepan and bring it to a boil again. Pour boiling brine over cucumbers in jars to the very top and roll up. Turn the jars with the workpiece upside down, wrap them up and leave them to cool completely.
