Compotes for winter are good because they can be prepared from literally anything. This is very convenient if you have your own garden or cottage. Any fresh ingredients at hand is already half the deal. For example, I share a recipe for my favorite compote of gooseberries and apricots.

Ingredients

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Arrange the apricots and gooseberries in clean jars.

Pour boiling water and leave for 15-20 minutes under the lids.

Drain this water, dissolve the sugar in it and bring it to a boil again.

Pour back into the jars and roll up for the winter.
