In the middle of summer, the market stalls are littered with fragrant gooseberries. You can make a lot of delicious preparations from it. I like to make compote from green gooseberries. The refreshing drink turns out to be surprisingly fragrant and almost transparent.
Ingredients
- Gooseberry - 1 kg
- Sugar - 180 g
- Citric acid - on the tip of the knife
- Water - 3 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel the gooseberries from the dry tails and rinse.
Place the berries in sterilized jars, pour boiling water to the top and leave for 30 minutes.
Drain the water into a saucepan, add sugar and citric acid, boil for 2 minutes.
Pour boiling syrup into the jars, roll it up, turn it upside down and wrap it with a thick towel.
