The Greeks add mint to almost all dishes. In small quantities, the fragrant herb gives notes of freshness and favorably shades the taste of the main ingredients. Let's borrow this wonderful practice and cook cucumbers with mint.

Ingredients

  • Cucumbers - 3 kg
  • Mint - 2 twigs
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Bay leaf - 3 pieces
  • Black Pepper - 10 peas
  • Sugar - 80 g
  • Salt - 100 g
  • Vinegar - 100 ml
  • Water - 1,8 l

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Wash cucumbers and soak for 3 hours in cold water.

Put black pepper, mint, bay leaf, crushed garlic on the bottom of sterilized jars.

Tightly tamp the cucumbers, pour boiling water and leave for 25-30 minutes.

Drain the water into a saucepan, add sugar and salt. Boil for 2 minutes.

Pour vinegar and boiling marinade into jars with cucumbers. Roll up and wrap up with a thick towel for a day.
