If you need to cook thick jam, but you don't want to boil it for a long time, use thickeners. How? I tell you about the example of gooseberry jam with pectin. Pay attention to the sequence of processes and the specified time.
Ingredients
- Gooseberry - 1 kg
- Sugar - 500 g
- Pectin - 10 g
- Water (boiled) – 100 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Gooseberry pick, clean and rinse with warm water.
Put the berries through a meat grinder or grind in a blender.
Mix the resulting mass with sugar, boil for 5 minutes and put aside to cool.
Mix the pectin with water and leave for 10-15 minutes.
Put the pan on the fire, pour in the pectin preparation and cook over medium heat for another 5 minutes. Stir the mass, otherwise it will burn.
Put the hot jam in clean, dry jars, roll it up, turn it upside down and wrap it up well. After a day, transfer the jam to a dark, cool place.
