In the season of fresh vegetables, I try to cook more different sauces for the winter. Among my recent discoveries is a recipe for a wonderful tomato and apple ketchup with onions. I liked its sweet and sour taste and delicate fruity aroma.

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes - 2 kg
  • Apples - 500 g
  • Onion - 3 pieces
  • Vinegar - 80 ml
  • Ground black pepper - 0,5 tsp.
  • Sugar - 100 g
  • Salt - 50 g
  • Water - 250 ml

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Cut the apples into quarters, peel the seeds and peel.

Chop tomatoes and peeled onions.

Put the apples, tomatoes and onions in a saucepan. Pour in the water and cook for 20 minutes.

Wipe the resulting mass through a sieve.

Add ground pepper, sugar, salt and boil for half an hour on low heat.

Pour in the vinegar, stir and immediately remove from the heat.

Put the hot ketchup in the prepared jars, roll it up and wrap it well with a warm blanket.
