It's no secret that traditional Georgian tkemali is made from plums. But I wanted to add variety and at the same time preserve the classic recipe as much as possible. A little experimentation – and finally tkemali from apples was a success! I'm telling you more!
Ingredients
- Apples - 1.5 kg
- Garlic - 40 g
- Bell pepper - 100 g
- Chili pepper - 1 piece
- Parsley - 30 g
- Dill - 30 g
- Sugar - 1 tsp.
- Salt - 1 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel and slice the apples, add a couple of tablespoons of water and simmer them until soft.
Chop the apples with a blender.
Separately chop garlic, both peppers and herbs in a blender.
Mix everything together, add sugar and salt, and boil the tkemali for 15 minutes.
Put the tkemali in sterilized jars.
