Japanese mochi cakes according to the classic recipe are delicious and extremely tender. They are combined with any fillings. Sticky rice flour is used for dessert. Do not try to replace it with another kind of flour - you simply will not succeed.

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Mix rice flour and powdered sugar in a non-metallic bowl.

Add food coloring to the water. Pour the colored water into a bowl with flour and powdered sugar, mix well.

Cover the bowl with the dough with cling film and send it to the microwave at maximum power for 1 minute. Then mix the dough until smooth and repeat the procedure again.

Sprinkle the table with corn flour, lay out the dough, sprinkle with flour again, roll out the dough.

Divide the dough into round tortillas, put the filling to your taste in the center of each (any fruit, chocolate or cream cheese will do well - try different flavors to find your perfect mochi). Form beautiful round cakes.

Sprinkle the finished mochi with corn flour again and serve immediately.
