Traditionally, hummus is made from chickpeas, but you can replace it with ordinary chopped peas. The recipe is not much different from the classic one. Pre-soaked peas are also boiled and crushed with the rest of the ingredients in a blender.
Ingredients
- Peas (stabbed) – 2 glasses
- Garlic - 3 clove
- Sesame - 50 g
- Olive oil - 30 ml
- Lemon juice - 3 art.l.
- Turmeric - 0,5 tsp.
- Ground coriander - 0,5 tsp.
- Salt - to taste
- Water (cold) – 100 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wash the peas thoroughly and soak for 10 hours.
Change the water and simmer for 1.5-2 hours. The peas should boil completely.
Fry sesame seeds in a dry frying pan until golden brown.
Grind sesame seeds with oil, lemon juice and peeled garlic cloves in a blender.
Pour in cold water and continue the blender for another 1 minute.
Add the boiled peas, ground coriander, turmeric, salt and continue to grind until smooth.
If desired, you can add more salt, lemon juice or other spices.
