The traditional forshmak is sweet and sour or sour apple. But you can safely experiment with other fruits and vegetables. I like to add something juicy for a nice texture. For example, a small and preferably young squash.
Ingredients
- Herring (fillet) – 800 g
- Onion - 1 piece
- Young zucchini - 1 piece
- Chicken eggs - 2 pieces
- White bread - 2 slices
- Olive oil - 1 tbsp.l.
- Vinegar - 1 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Soak the bread in water so that it gets wet, and squeeze it out slightly.
Boil hard-boiled eggs, let cool and peel.
Pass all the ingredients with onions and zucchini through a meat grinder, and add oil and vinegar to the forshmak. Season as desired.
