The classic muhammara has a bright orange or red color, because the main ingredient is sweet red pepper. All kinds of additives look more spectacular in contrast. This time I propose to supplement the recipe with sesame and garlic.
Ingredients
- Bell pepper - 4 pieces
- Walnuts - 100 g
- Sesame - 4 tbsp.l .
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Chili pepper - 2 pieces
- Sesame oil - 30 ml
- Olive oil - 80 ml
- Thyme - 1 tsp.
- Zira - 0.5 tsp.
- Spices and seasonings - 1 tsp.
- Lemon juice - 3 art.l.
- Balsamic vinegar - 2 art.l.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wrap the pepper in foil and bake until scorched in the oven at 180 degrees for about 35-40 minutes. Peel off the skin.
Grind pepper, chili and garlic in a blender. Separately chop the nuts and add them to the same place.
Add sesame seeds, spices, thyme, sesame oil, lemon juice and vinegar to the mass.
Beat everything again and add olive oil to the consistency.
