Such a snack could be perfectly stored in the refrigerator for several days, but it is always eaten faster. If you don't like spicy food, exclude the appropriate spices from the recipe. Unsweetened carrots can be compensated by adding a little sugar.
Ingredients
- Carrots - 1 kg
- Garlic - half a head
- Vegetable oil - 50 ml
- Apple cider vinegar - 50 ml
- Bay leaf - 2 pieces
- Allspice - 3 peas
- Ground red pepper - 0,5 tsp.
- Ground black pepper - 0,5 tsp.
- Salt - 1 art.l.
- Water - 200 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel the carrots and grate them on a special grater.
Add salt and mix, kneading well with your hands.
In a small saucepan, boil water with bay leaf and allspice.
Remove from heat, add oil, vinegar and mix.
Pour the hot marinade into the carrots, add black and red pepper, garlic passed through the press and mix everything well again.
Transfer the carrots to the prepared container, cover with a lid and put them in the refrigerator for 3 hours.
