The classic Japanese snack is onigiri rice balls. They are prepared with a wide variety of fillings or without them at all. It will take a minimum of ingredients and very little time. Even novice cooks can easily cope with this recipe in Japanese!
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Rinse the rice to clear water and leave it for half an hour.
Pour 2 cups of water, bring to a boil and cook under a lid on low heat for 15-20 minutes, without opening.
Remove the pan from the heat and leave it under the lid for another 15 minutes.
Gently mix the rice with a wooden spatula and let cool slightly. You can add a spoonful of rice vinegar.
Moisten your hands in salt water and form onigiri.
Put the pieces of fish inside and give the workpiece a triangular shape.
Glue a strip of nori on top with the rough side to the rice.
