On a hot day, nothing quenches thirst better than kvass. But do not rush to follow him to the store, because you can prepare a delicious drink yourself. I recommend a proven recipe for kvass from black bread with yeast. I've been using it for so many years and the result is always excellent.
Ingredients
- Black Bread - 400 g
- Dry yeast - 0,5 tsp.
- Sugar - 250 g
- Citric acid - 0,5 tsp.
- Water (purified) – 5 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Cut the bread into small pieces, put it on a baking sheet and dry it in the oven for 15 minutes.
Mix water with sugar, citric acid and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat and cool to 35 degrees.
Place warm breadcrumbs in the prepared container.
Add yeast, sweet water, cover with gauze and put in a warm place for 2 days.
Strain, pour into plastic bottles and refrigerate for 3 days.
