I stopped buying ketchups in stores a long time ago, because they are so easy to cook at home. If you don't know how, rather read this recipe. Ready-made ketchup can be used immediately, stored for several days in the refrigerator or rolled up for the winter.
Ingredients
- Tomatoes - 2 kg
- Onion - 3 pieces
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Sugar - half a glass
- Paprika (ground) – 1 tsp.
- Ground black pepper - 1 tsp.
- Salt (without slide) – 1 tbsp.l.
- Apple cider vinegar - 30 ml
- Water (purified) – 100 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wash the tomatoes, remove the core and cut into quarters.
Put the tomatoes in a saucepan, add water and cook for 30 minutes on very low heat.
Peel the onion from the husk and cut into large slices.
Pour the onion into a saucepan with tomatoes, stir and continue to cook for another 1.5 hours.
Add sugar, salt, paprika, ground black pepper and garlic passed through the press.
Puree the mass with an immersion blender and strain through a sieve.
Pour the tomato liquid into a saucepan, put it on a slow fire and boil for another 1 hour.
Add vinegar, mix well and remove from heat after 2 minutes.
