In the classic version, the popular sauce is made from tomatoes. I suggest experimenting a little and cooking ketchup from plums today. For this, large and fleshy plums with red pulp are best suited.

Ingredients

  • Plums - 500 g
  • Bell pepper - 300 g
  • Onion - 1 piece
  • Olive oil - 2 tbsp.l .
  • Ground black pepper - 0,5 tsp.
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp.l.
  • Salt - 1 tsp.
  • Water - 250 ml

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Cut the plums in half and peel the seeds.

Prepare the bell pepper, remove the seeds and stalks, chop.

Peel the onion and cut into small pieces.

Put all the blanks in a saucepan, add water and boil for 15 minutes under the lid.

Chop soft vegetables and fruits in a blender, and then rub through a sieve.

Mix the resulting mass with butter, ground pepper, salt and sugar.

Boil for 20 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
