You can make homemade ketchup in dozens, if not hundreds of ways. I have several favorite recipes that differ in composition and specifics. This version with apples and onions is one of my family's favorites, so I will gladly share it with you.
Ingredients
- Tomatoes - 700 g
- Bell pepper - 1 piece
- Apples - 1 piece
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Onion - 1 piece
- Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.l.
- Spices and seasonings - 1 tbsp.l.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Finely chop the onion and garlic, and fry in oil until golden.
Peel the apples and tomatoes, and pass all the ingredients along with the onion through a meat grinder.
Add salt, sugar and spices to taste.
Boil the ketchup to the desired thickness over low heat.
Punch the finished mass with an immersion blender to get a smoother ketchup consistency.
