Most of us associate New Year's holidays with this dish. In winter, herring is especially delicious, so the salad turns out just amazing. Cook it a few hours before serving, so that it has time to brew in the refrigerator.
Ingredients
- Herring (lightly salted) – 1 piece
- Beetroot (boiled) – 250 g
- Potatoes (boiled) – 300 g
- Carrots (boiled) – 2 pieces
- Onion - 1 piece
- Chicken eggs (boiled) – 3 pieces
- Mayonnaise - 160 ml
- Lemon juice - 2 tsp.
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel the herring from the skin, fins, gut and finely chop.
Peel beets, carrots, potatoes and eggs, grate.
Peel and chop the onion.
Lay out the potatoes, pepper, salt and smear with mayonnaise.
Lay out the herring and onion in the following layers. Sprinkle with lemon juice, add pepper, salt and mayonnaise again.
Add carrots, then beets mixed with mayonnaise, and sprinkle evenly with eggs.
Before serving, the salad should stand in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
