- Cabbage (white) – 1 head
- Tomato sauce - 200 ml
- Water - 4 glasses
- Allspice - 3 peas
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Round rice - 200 g
- Bell pepper - 2 pieces
- Tomatoes - 3 pieces
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 piece
- Vegetable oil - 50 ml
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - 0,5 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Remove the stalk and transfer the cabbage to a pot of boiling water.
From time to time, remove the cabbage from the water and remove the finished leaves with a fork. Continue until you remove all the appropriate leaves.
Rinse the rice under running water, pour boiling water and cover for 15 minutes.
Cut onion, bell pepper and tomatoes into small cubes, grate carrots.
Heat the oil in a frying pan, add onions, carrots and fry until golden brown.
Add bell peppers and tomatoes. Simmer for 7 minutes and remove from heat.
In a deep bowl, mix rice, fried vegetables, salt and ground pepper. Mix the filling thoroughly with your hands.
Put a little filling on the edge of the cabbage leaf and roll it into an envelope. Repeat the action with the remaining leaves.
Cover the bottom of the pan with cabbage leaves, put cabbage rolls on top.
Boil water, add tomato sauce, bay leaf, salt and allspice. Boil for 10 minutes.
Pour the tomato liquid into the cabbage rolls, cover with a lid and simmer for 50 minutes.
