In fact, turkey tzimes is something like turkey stew and dried fruits. On the one hand, this is a rather unusual dish for us. On the other hand, we often cook poultry with prunes, dried apricots or fresh fruit. So why not?
Ingredients
- Turkey - 600 g
- Carrots - 600 g
- Dates - 140 g
- Dried apricots - 140 g
- Raisins - 140 g
- Honey - 2 tbsp.l.
- Olive oil - 2 art.l.
- Turmeric - 1 tsp.
- Garlic - 2 clove
- Hot red pepper - 2 pinches
- Nutmeg - 0.5 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Cut the turkey into pieces and fry until golden brown.
Add sliced carrots to it and fry for another 3-4 minutes.
Add all the dried fruits there and pour in 100-150 ml of water.
Simmer the turkey cymes under the lid on low heat for half an hour.
Add honey, chopped garlic and all spices, and simmer for another 15 minutes.
