If you still don't like pearl barley, you just haven't tried cooking it in pots. And even with mushrooms! At my house, such a wonderful crumbly side dish was appreciated even by children, who are generally difficult to persuade to porridge!
Ingredients
- Pearl barley - 300 g
- Mushrooms - 500 g
- Onion - 1 piece
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Bay leaf - 2 pieces
- Spices and seasonings - 2 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Soak the pearl barley overnight.
Finely chop the onion and mushrooms, grate the carrots and fry everything together until golden.
Put the roast in pots and add bay leaf with spices.
Fill the pearl barley on top and fill everything with water so that it is about a centimeter higher than the porridge.
Put the pots in the oven for 1.5 hours at 160 degrees.
