In fact, pearl barley is quite difficult to cook in an ordinary saucepan. It's much easier to do this in a slow cooker. I share a proven recipe for pearl porridge with champignons. The dish turns out very tasty!
Ingredients
- Pearl barley - 1,5 glasses
- Champignons - 300 g
- Onion - 1 piece
- Butter - 40 g
- Salt - to taste
- Water - 1,2 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Rinse the pearl barley and fill it with cold water for 5 hours.
Chop the champignons and peeled onions.
Turn on the "Frying" program on the slow cooker, pour in the butter and wait until it is completely melted.
Add the onion and fry until golden brown.
Add the champignons and continue cooking for another 10 minutes.
Pour in the washed pearl barley, pour in warm water, add salt and close the lid. Turn on the "Porridge" mode for 40 minutes.
After the beep, turn on the "Heating" mode for 10 minutes.
Put the finished porridge on plates and serve to the table.
