It is worth adding some chopped walnuts to the meatballs – and now the familiar dish is playing with completely new colors. I recommend definitely trying this option – the whole family will surely be delighted!
Ingredients
- Minced meat - 650 g
- Onion - 150 g
- Fig - 100 g
- Walnuts - 60 g
- Chicken eggs - 1 piece
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Ground black pepper - 0,5 tsp.
- Garlic - 2-3 cloves
- Tomato sauce (or tomato puree) – 350 ml
- Basil (dried) – 1 tsp.
- Greenery - 2 twigs
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Boil the rice almost to readiness, put it in a colander and let it cool.
Add rice, chopped onion, egg, crushed garlic, salt, pepper and finely chopped nuts to the minced meat. Leave some nuts for decoration.
Form small meatballs with wet hands and put them in a baking dish. Bake for 20-30 minutes at 200 degrees.
Heat the tomato sauce or puree to a boil. Add dried basil or other spices to taste.
Pour the sauce over the meatballs, cover with foil and place in the oven for another 30-40 minutes at 180 degrees.
Decorate the dish with chopped herbs and the remaining nuts.
