Thanks to mozzarella, there are distinct Italian notes in this meatball recipe. If you want to emphasize this effect even more, add dried oregano and decorate the dish with basil leaves. But with ordinary pepper and parsley is no worse!
Ingredients
- Minced chicken - 500 g
- Mozzarella (mini) – 25 balls
- Onion - 200 g
- Spices and seasonings - 1 tsp.
- Tomatoes - 350 g
- Thyme - 3 twigs
- Garlic - 3 cloves
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Add half of the chopped onion and spices to taste to the minced chicken, and mix.
Form small tortillas with wet hands and wrap a ball of mozzarella in each to make meatballs with stuffing.
Put them in a baking dish and send them to the oven at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
Finely chop the remaining onion and garlic. Fry them until golden brown.
Peel the tomatoes and chop them with a blender, grater or meat grinder. Pour the mass to the onion and simmer for 4-5 minutes.
Add spices and chopped thyme to the sauce, simmer for another minute.
Put the meatballs in the sauce and rub the remaining mozzarella on top. Put them back in the oven for another 10 minutes.
