In the cold season, I want to cook more homemade pastries. At the forefront of my favorite recipes are pies with caramelized apples in the oven. It's impossible to call the process simple, but I don't see any special difficulties either.
Ingredients
- Flour - 400 g
- Fresh yeast - 15 g
- Chicken eggs - 1 piece
- Milk - 150 ml
- Butter - 50 g
- Vanillin - at the tip of the knife
- Sugar - 100 g
- Salt - 0,25 tsp.
- Egg yolks (for greasing pies) – 1 piece
- Vegetable oil (to lubricate the mold) – 1 art.l.
- Apples - 4 pieces
- Sugar - 2 art.l.
- Ground cinnamon - 0,5 tsp.
- Butter - 30 g
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Preheat the milk, add the crumbled yeast, 1 tbsp sugar and flour each. Stir, cover with a towel and leave for 10 minutes in a warm place.
In a separate container, whisk the egg with salt and the remaining sugar.
Sift flour, add beaten egg, sourdough, melted butter and vanilla. Knead a soft dough.
Cover the bowl with a towel and put it away for 1 hour in a warm place.
Peel the apples, seeds and finely chop them.
Melt the butter in a frying pan, add sugar and wait for the moment when the mass begins to turn yellow.
Add apples, cinnamon and mix. Cook for 5-7 minutes over medium heat.
Sprinkle the table with flour, lay out the dough, lightly knead and divide into 12 identical parts.
Shape each piece into a thick round cake.
Lay out some filling and make incisions on the opposite edges on the side.
Take hold of one "ear" and blind it with the opposite edge next to the filling. Attach the second "eye" accordingly also to the reverse side. Thus, a small window will appear in the middle.
Repeat the steps with the rest of the dough and filling. Place the blanks on a greased baking sheet and leave for 30 minutes in a warm place.
Brush with egg yolk, sprinkle with sugar and bake for half an hour in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. The time may vary depending on the characteristics of your oven and the size of the pies.
