If desired, you can prepare anything for the winter. Even watermelons. Moreover, there are many different ways to do this, and today I will share with you one of the simplest. It will require citric acid – a traditional additive for winter preparations.

Ingredients

  • Watermelon - 1.5-2 kg
  • Sugar - 50 g
  • Water - 800 ml
  • Salt - 45 g
  • Citric acid - 1.5 tsp.
  • Bay leaf - 2 pieces
  • Black Pepper - 2 peas

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Cut the watermelon into slices, you can directly with the peel.

Put it in sterile jars.

Pour boiling water, cover with lids and leave for 10-15 minutes.

Drain this water into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add salt, sugar and citric acid to it.

Put the spices in jars and pour the marinade over the watermelons. Roll up the cans.
