Today I will tell you how easy it is to make amazing gooseberry jam with agar-agar. Please note that this thickener works at high temperatures, so it should be boiled for at least 5 minutes.
Ingredients
- Gooseberry - 2 kg
- Sugar - 1 kg
- Agar-agar - 20 g
- Water - 150 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel the gooseberries from the dry tails and rinse.
Cover the berries with sugar and leave for 2-3 hours.
Agar-agar pour warm water, bring to a boil and put aside for 15 minutes.
Put a saucepan with gooseberries on low heat and boil for 5 minutes from the moment of boiling.
Add the billet with agar-agar and boil for another 5-7 minutes.
Put the hot jam in clean, dry jars, roll it up and wrap it with a warm blanket.
