I want to share a recipe for a delicious and healthy canned compote from irga. The pleasant taste of the drink will delight you in the cold season. And to make the drink get a brighter flavor, I add a fresh sprig or a pinch of dried thyme to it.

Ingredients

  • Irga - 200 g
  • Water - 600 ml
  • Sugar - 250 g
  • Citric acid - pinch
  • Thyme - pinch

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Rinse the Irga under running water and put it in a colander.

Cook sugar syrup, add a pinch of citric acid.

Place irga in a pre-sterilized jar, add dried thyme.

Pour boiling syrup over the berries to the top of the jar. Seal the jar tightly, turn it upside down, wrap it up and cool it. The cooled compote can be stored at room temperature.
