Lovers of vegetable caviar should definitely try aivar, popular in Serbian and in general in Balkan cuisine. The classic recipe is prepared on the basis of sweet pepper. But for a change, I suggest adding some tomatoes to it, and at the same time I'll tell you how to prepare a snack for the winter.
Ingredients
- Bell pepper - 500 g
- Tomatoes - 500 g
- Onion - 250 g
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Vegetable oil - 15 ml
- Vinegar - 5 ml
- Salt - 30 g
- Sugar - 39 g
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Put all the vegetables through a meat grinder and add the rest of the ingredients.
Simmer the aivar for 20 minutes on low heat.
Roll it up in sterile jars for the winter.
