Cooking dried figs at home is not difficult at all. Although the process takes a lot of time, it is still worth pleasing the household with a useful delicacy. Homemade dried fruits retain the wonderful taste and useful properties of fresh fruits.

Ingredients

  • Figs - 30 pcs.
  • Water - 600 ml
  • Sugar - 400 g

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Figs (I take not very large fruits) rinse and dry slightly.

Cook the syrup from sugar and water.

Dip the figs in boiling sugar syrup for 15 seconds. So it will retain its color and will be covered with a sweet glaze.

Put the figs on the grill and put them in the oven at a temperature of 55-60 ° C for about 6 hours. I recommend drying figs with the oven door slightly open for steam to escape. Then turn the fruit over and dry for another 2-3 hours. Check the readiness of figs by section - the pulp should be dry.

You can additionally dry the figs by stringing them on a thread and leaving them at room temperature for a couple of days.

Put the finished figs in a dry, clean container and store in the refrigerator.
