In the season of fresh vegetables, do not be lazy to close canned beets in cans for the winter. It can be used for cooking borscht and a variety of salads. Beets for this recipe need to be pre-boiled or baked in the oven.

Ingredients

  • Beetroot (boiled) – 2 kg
  • Black Pepper - 6 peas
  • Bay leaf - 2 pieces
  • Citric acid - 5 g
  • Sugar - 3 art.l.
  • Salt - 2 tbsp.l.
  • Water - 2,5 l

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Peel the boiled beets and cut them into large pieces.

Put spices and chopped beets in jars.

Boil water, add sugar, salt, citric acid and boil for 1 minute.

Pour the boiling marinade into the jars and sterilize for 10 minutes.

Roll up the pickled beets, turn the jars upside down and wrap them with a thick towel for a day.
