Prepare a couple of jars of gooseberries in syrup for the winter. Berries can be added to the filling or used to decorate desserts, and it is convenient to soak biscuits with syrup. And if you are not engaged in baking, just eat a delicious billet with tea.

Ingredients

  • Gooseberry - 1 kg
  • Sugar - 800 g
  • Water (filtered) – 800 ml

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Prepare the gooseberries and rinse thoroughly.

Boil water, add sugar and boil for 5-7 minutes.

Pour in the gooseberries, turn off the heat and insist under the lid for 2 hours.

Pour the syrup into a separate saucepan and bring to a boil again.

Add the berries, remove from the stove and set aside for 2 hours.

Put the pan on the fire and boil for 5 minutes from the moment of boiling.

Arrange the gooseberries in clean, dry jars, roll them up and turn them upside down.
