A very original way to cook really thick cherry jam is to add a little starch to it. This is a good alternative to gelatin and other thickeners, if nothing else is at hand. Starch is suitable for any.

Ingredients

  • Cherry (without pits) – 500 g
  • Sugar - 500 g
  • Water - 50 ml
  • Starch - 2 tbsp.l .

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Chop the cherries in a blender.

Add sugar and bring to a boil. Boil for 10-15 minutes.

Dilute the starch in water and pour into the jam, stirring constantly.

Cook it for another 15-20 minutes and pour it into sterile jars.
