The easiest way to guarantee the safety of canned compote even in an ordinary cabinet is citric acid. In addition, it pleasantly shades the taste of the drink. I share my favorite recipe from hawthorn, if you haven't tried such a curiosity yet.

Ingredients

  • Hawthorn - 600 g
  • Sugar - 200 g
  • Water - 2.5 l
  • Citric acid - 0.5 tsp.

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Put the hawthorn in a sterile jar, pour boiling water, cover and leave for 20 minutes.

Drain this water, add sugar to it and boil it again.

Add citric acid, mix the syrup, pour in the hawthorn and roll up the compote for the winter.
