The best preparation of gooseberries according to the unanimous opinion of my family is this emerald jam. It is not only delicious and fragrant, but also simply beautiful, so it will decorate a homemade tea party and even a festive table.
Ingredients
- Gooseberry (green) – 2 kg
- Cherry leaves - 100 g
- Sugar - 1.4 kg
- Water - 500 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Fill the cherry leaves with water, boil for 5 minutes after boiling and strain the broth.
Pour gooseberry decoction of leaves and leave for a day in a cool place.
Drain the liquid, add sugar and boil the syrup until it dissolves.
Lower the gooseberries into the syrup, boil for another 15 minutes and, if desired, mash with a pusher.
Roll the emerald jam into sterile jars.
