It's hard to find delicious ketchup in the store. It is better to buy farm tomatoes in season and cook it yourself. If you want to try something unusual, prepare tomato ketchup with cinnamon. The sauce will turn out fragrant and slightly burning.

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes - 3 kg
  • Onion - 200 g
  • Garlic - 50 g
  • Cinnamon - 2 sticks
  • Ground black pepper - 1 tsp.
  • Vinegar - 80 ml
  • Sugar - 2 art.l.
  • Salt - 2 art.l.

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Wash tomatoes and cut into quarters.

Peel the onion and cut into pieces about the same size as the tomatoes.

Disassemble the garlic into cloves and peel off the husk.

Put the onion, tomatoes, garlic and cinnamon in a saucepan.

Cover with a lid and simmer for 1 hour over low heat.

Wipe the resulting mass through a sieve.

Add ground pepper, salt and sugar.

Simmer for 20 minutes.

Pour in the vinegar, mix, place in sterilized jars and roll up.
