Different varieties of gooseberries differ in color, taste and even a little – in appearance. But they are all perfect for making canned compote for the winter. I'm sharing one of the proven recipes!
Ingredients
- Gooseberry (green) – 1.5 kg
- Sugar - 2 glasses
- Water - 1.5 l
- Citric acid - 1 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Put the washed gooseberries in sterile jars.
Boil water with sugar and boil until it dissolves.
Pour over the gooseberries and cover with lids. After 10 minutes, drain the syrup and boil again.
Add citric acid to the jars and pour in the syrup.
Roll up the gooseberry compote for the winter.
