Fragrant rich borscht with lard smells all over the apartment even in the process of cooking! Of course, it's hard to call it a light and dietary dish, but you can treat yourself from time to time. I tell you how to cook it properly so that it is delicious and not too greasy.

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Fill the brisket with water and cook the broth for about 1.5-2 hours. Remove the meat, slice, strain the broth and return everything back to the pan.

Grate the beetroot and put it in the broth. Add chopped potatoes and chopped tomatoes to the same place.

Pass the onion and lard through a meat grinder and send it to the borscht. Add the bay leaf with spices and mix everything together.

Cut the carrots into thin strips, chop the cabbage and also send it to the borscht when the potatoes are almost ready.

Cook for another 2-3 minutes and remove the borscht from the heat.
