Feijoa jam is an unusual preparation in our storerooms. Lovers of experiments will appreciate this exotic delicacy. It is ideal to serve with fresh rolls or cookies, and can be used as a filling for pies and cakes.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Feijoa rinse under running water, dry with paper towels. Cut the fruits into thin slices.
Wash the lemon well, remove the zest in any convenient way. After that, squeeze the juice out of the lemon.
Prepare the syrup. In a saucepan, boil water, add sugar, stir and heat over low heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add the zest and lemon juice, boil everything together for another 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove the boiling syrup from the heat, place the feijoa slices in it, mix gently and leave to cool.
Then put the jam on the fire again and boil for 5 minutes after boiling, not forgetting to stir.
Pour the hot feijoa jam into pre-sterilized small jars, roll it up and cool it upside down at room temperature.
