Do you want to try the unusual taste of canned compote? My recipe of apples and mountain ash will definitely please your taste buds. If the rowan is too tart, I advise you to freeze it first. But this is not a mandatory step – as you prefer.
Ingredients
- Apples - 400 g
- Mountain Ash - 300 g
- Sugar - 400 g
- Citric acid - 2-3 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Cut the apples into slices, sort out the rowan and put everything in sterile jars.
Pour boiling water and leave under the lid for 20 minutes.
Drain this water and boil it again. Add sugar and citric acid, and boil until dissolved.
Pour the syrup back into the jars and roll up the compote.
